Members of the department have recently published books and articles on topics as diverse as contemporary fictions of multiculturalism, our spatial engagement with poetry, nineteenth-century literature and free trade, Charles Dickens and savagery, and children's literature. Other Research Activities

We regularly invite speakers from Turkey and abroad to share their research findings with us at lectures and seminars. In addition, our department works closely with both the Department of American Culture and Literature (AMER) and the Programme of Cultures, Civilisations, and Ideas (CCI) at Bilkent, and shared reading and discussion groups are often running. Our faculty also engage in a range of translation, editorial and peer review work: the Journal of the Northern Renaissance, for example, is edited by a faculty member and part-funded by Bilkent University.
